Summer of Freebies: Week 3 and 4

Week 3: We ended up loaning our van to the young women leaders in our ward to go to girls camp. We'll save our coupons for another week.

Week 4: J2, A1, Z and A2 earned free passes to Seven Peaks Waterpark as part of a reading program at school. I found an adult admission pass in some coupons that came in the mail, so the five of us spent the afternoon at Seven Peaks. The kids had tons of fun in the water and sun! Unfortunately, I forgot the camera, again.

Summer of Freebies: Week 1 and 2

Summer vacations can be lots of fun ... or just the same old thing. With piano lesson day and library day planned into the weekly schedule, we decided to spice up our summer vacation by using some "freebie" coupons/discount tickets or going to free events once a week.

Week 1: Mini golf at Trafalga. Unfortunately I forgot my camera and missed several awesome "Hole in One" shots.

Week 2: Bowling. Everyone had a blast.

It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's a ...

PIG?!?
Imagine waking up and seeing this in the field across from your house!
Lil L, A2 and I went to the Eagle Mountain Pony Express Days Parade today.

A2 enjoyed collecting candy all all of the other loot that people were handing out.
Lil L bounced along to the music ... until she fell asleep.

J1 marched in her first parade as a member of Westlake High School's Marching Band. Go Thunder!!!

L walked with a group from the Stake that are preparing to go on Trek this summer.
"Pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked ..."

I love a parade!! Here's some of my favorite floats.

Memorial Day Tradition

Some people go camping or on a picnic, others have a BBQ with friends and family. Our family? No matter what the temperature is outside, we throw our kids into the pool to "stir the salt" and begin the summer swimming season. We have to. It's tradition! The kids were good sports - considering that on Monday it was about 75 degrees and the water temperature was only 60!
